I got a huge box of Lokta paper in from Nepal and I'm so excited to share it with you. Each batch has about 100 pages of 8.5" x11" paper.
The paper is slightly off-white, and its visible fibers give it a cool organic look. Printmakers love it for its unique texture.
Lokta paper, also known as Nepali paper, is handmade in the mountains of Nepal from the inner bark of the indigenous Lokta bush or Daphne bush (Daphne bhoula or Daphne papyracea).
Lokta paper is prized for its attractive texture, its durability, strength and its resistance to insects. It is easy to dye or paint, and won't fall apart in water. Collage, gift wrap, bookmaking…Lokta paper will make any paper craft more beautiful.
